(4/10/2011) (editors notes) At this time the home still tests very high for mold
(sample of testing results). Ryan Homes has terminated
their support, which ends the show of good intentions with apparently no real
intentions of fixing the full consequence of construction errors. Legal action
is required, which typically adds more years to Ryan Homes victim's problems.
Finding a competent mold remediation company in the area is also proving
challenging. While some have professionally designed websites with procedures mold
experts should do, their actual work...incompetent falls short of describing it
based on the work done in this home. Read

(Photo above): New home under repair for
water damage. It took Ryan Homes months to get around to repairing
(attempted to repair) known leaks
that destroyed the ceiling and walls. The owner had to hire their own inspector
to get Ryan Homes customer service to take any action. This poor or lack of service also led to health
problems and mold. (the repairs failed, and more leaks have occurred) Molds can be found almost anywhere; they can grow on virtually
any organic substance, as long as moisture and oxygen are present. There are
molds that can grow on wood, paper, carpet, foods, and insulation. When
excessive moisture accumulates in buildings or on building materials, mold
growth will often occur, particularly if the moisture problem remains
undiscovered or unaddressed. It is impossible to eliminate all mold and mold
spores in the indoor environment. However, mold growth can be controlled indoors
by controlling moisture indoors. Source: United States EPA
+More reasons to stay away from Ryan Homes and NVR
It has been over sixteen months since I reported the first water intrusion to
Ryan Homes, and my home still has not been fully repaired. In this time, I have
seen rows and rows of townhouses and multi-level condos go from nothing more
than empty lots to completion. Yet, repairing my home seems to be a tedious
feat, requiring quite a bit of downtime and recovery.

(Pictured Above) Flies swarmed this room of a new house for months with no
explanation. Next is water damage (rust and corrosion) to the heat and air and
HVAC systems from additional unknown sources of water intrusion. Water damaged carpet
is removed in this picture, and additional water leaks in after a failed Ryan
Homes repair attempt.

excellence? Photo Date 3-13-2010.
Over one year later after being contacted about rain entering the home, Ryan
Homes has STILL not fixed the leak. Ryan Homes spent most of that time
denying there was a problem. To date (4/17/2010) this
issue is still not repaired.
As explained by the US EPA, the key to mold control is moisture control.
